Research Philosophy
Intercollege, Larnaca encourages all faculty members to engage in research. In order to achieve this objective, Intercollege provides time release to their members. Additionally, is very much supported to conduct research with other research institutions or industrial organizations, nationally and internationally located.
Research values
The following values are the basis upon which research should be conducted:
- Research must be conducted with integrity and to the highest level of professional ethical standards.
- Respect for colleagues and subjects must be maintained throughout any research activity
- Readiness to help and support colleagues during the research process must prevail
- Transparency, honesty and knowledge sharing are the cornerstone for cooperative research
Furthermore, all researchers are required to disclose any potential conflict of interest through the sponsor of the research or for any other reason that might affect the interpretation of the research results.
Funding The research department keeps Intercollege research members up-dated with funding opportunities, and offers support during the submission process.

All Intercollege members as well as external research partners will receive a research contract. In this research contract will be specified the role of the researcher, the research task he or she must fulfill, schedules for task fulfillment, and the project specific amount of money for the accomplishment of the task. This will be signed by the research coordinator and the researcher.
Commercial and development of patents
Research for commercial applications is also encouraged at Intercollege. Applied orientated research is beneficial for the institution in itself, for the researcher and for industry leading to innovative and creative results. In case that copy right or patents are developed Intercollege has a legal interest in all intellectual property from the work produced during individual research within the framework of researcher’s normal duties, as members of the faculty.
This right is shared with the faculty member who is the creator of the intellectual property according to the resources, facilities and endeavours that each party contributed. When income is received by Intercollege as a result of a patent, invention or discovery, all costs incurred attributable to the patenting, marketing, licensing, protection, maintenance and/or administration is recovered from that income. Any net income from royalties is distributed according to a formula: 50% to the inventor and 50% to the University. In the case of co-inventors the income assigned for inventor is divided amongst them. This information will be explicitly mentioned in the research contract.

Intercollege International Knowledge Pool (IIKP)
The research department is building up this knowledge pool with the aim to achieve relevant knowledge flows from people at a very short time and to achieve greater knowledge synergies across the globe. This knowledge tool will help all of us to share and display newly created knowledge, skills and abilities.
How can we benefit from the (IIKP):
- For co-operative research

- For helping you in gathering data, e.g. possibility to distribute questionnaires, finding interviewees etc.
